Hi

I do not know if this is the way to introduce myself but I give it a try

I am Peter, 58 years young and living in Amstelveen near Amsterdam

More then fifty years ago I lived in Germany and collected my first fossils, little shells from limestonelayers.

Since that time I never stopped searching for "stones".

I collect fossils, minerals and since 1990 prehistoric artefact. My house is too small to expose all the beauties I did find.

I have got fossils, minerals and prehistoric artefacts from half Europe and Australie. Got great mosasauria from Marocco.

Prehistoric bifaces more then 100.000 years old etc.

Besides collecting I spend thousends of our prepping fossils, My latest project are Green Valley fishes from the eighteen inch layers. The most difficult thing for me with fossils is the proper determination.

So I hope I can learn a lot of you all, and when possible I like to share my little knowledge with you all.

Especially knowledge about prehistoric artefacts.

The picture shows a little Priscacara I am working at right now

Thank you for introducing yourself; I could tell from your first posts that you are not new to fossil collecting :)

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I am looking forward to share my finds and preppings with you all.

Can somebody tell me why the fonts and smileys and so on do not work. Is it the computer or me being a noob?

I don't yhink you (and/or your computer) do something wrong. And I face this denial periodically without knowing why it happens and what it depends on :zzzzscratchchin:

Hopefully, a better answer is on the way.... :)

Thank you very much, Chas, for the nice explanation.

In my fault, I haven't cleared out what exactly the problem is...

When trying to get into the answer space of any topic, the buttons area at the top appears two different shapes:

1) Sometimes it's under vivid colors and works perfectly (as in your example does) and

2) Sometimes it's under faint colors and all buttons are out of any function... and here the problem is...

Hi,

Astron, with your explanations, I think I know why you have the problem.

When you open an answer windows, you obtain 2 lines with symbols and :

1) Sometimes it's under vivid colors and works perfectly (as in your example does) and

2) Sometimes it's under faint colors and all buttons are out of any function... and here the problem is...

When smileys doesn't work and you have faint colors, click on the first symbol on the left side, on the 1st line ! You will obtain vivid colours and all choices will work ! ;)

Do u have digital versions of the books u wrote? Are they in French or also translated? Would like to get an impression.

Also thanks for the literature, will take me a while to explore all of it.

Thanks Peter for your message.

I don't have digital version of my books, but perhaps I have yet the original which I could transform in a PDF version. But I need time to find them... they are only in french language

I don't collect prehistoric tools because in France it is very difficult. The reality is that is forbiden !
