RomanK Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 I found this specimen in February. It has qiute well preservation where you can see how the leaves (phylloides) attach to the leaf cushions at the branch. Note the branch thickness and the phylloide's wide. Fossildude19 Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 That's a lovely specimen, Roman! Thanks for posting this. Can you speculate as to where on the tree this branch might have come from, based on thickness? Terry Dactyll Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Roman.... Thats an awesome specimen....It shows every detail... pointing that the cushion itself was the attachment point looking how the leafs have begun to fall away and detach... It tells a story thats difficult to visualise when you see just the branch... Cheers Steve... And Welcome if your a New Member...

RomanK Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 (edited) Can you speculate as to where on the tree this branch might have come from, based on thickness? Regards Hi Tim, thanks! My branch thickness estimation based on visible part of the branch. And this method is more or lessas fossil usually chanched their original shape (can be flattened for wood). In my post case I just take into account usually leafy branches are shoots in fact. Regards, Roman Edited March 16, 2013 by RomanK Roman http://s1143.photobu.../donbassfossil/
