Beach Boy Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Found at Saltwick Bay Yorkshire Jurassic Coast Could it be. 1 Pseudolioceras Lythense. 2 Ovaticeras ovatum. Any help appreciated. Dave.
Terry Dactyll Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Dave.... I think your right with Pseudolioceras but possibly not a Lythense... The centres are different on the Pseudolioceras types and I have a feeling yours is P. Subconcavum... The top edge is radiused going into the centre if it is P. Subconcavum... The P. lythense is quite square and the P. boulbiense has a very tight centre....If it is...Congratulations I dont see that many.... Pseudolioceras lythense, Pseudolioceras boulbiense, Pseudolioceras subconcavum... Cheers Steve... And Welcome if your a New Member...
Beach Boy Posted April 14, 2013 Author Posted April 14, 2013 Steve Your fossils are a stunning example of prep and fossil quality thank you for sharing, you give us amateurs a prepping standard to aspire to. Thanks as always for the id. Regards Dave
Terry Dactyll Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Dave... Thanks...I really like Pseudo's and these specimens have had many tweaks to improve them as my prepwork has developed and improved...You do get critical of your earlier efforts as you learn and gain confidence and repreps are a good idea to bring old fossils upto more recent standards... If I only ever had an hour spare I'd do a reprep rather than start something new... Cheers Steve... And Welcome if your a New Member...
