I few finds from a Derbyshire opencast UK all collected since the Easter holidays,many hours of looking and only a few finds at a time.Mariopteris,Alethopteris,seed fern pinnules,eggcase and bellinurus the last one is a tiny.

Great finds, John! :D

Thanks for posting them. I enjoy seeing these nodules - I have nothing comparable to this form of fossil collecting available to me.

What is your preferred method of opening the nodules?

Whack/pray, or freeze/thaw?

Whack! i've tried freeze thaw but on a nodule with a 3D find it split both sides of the find lifting it.

John.... Top finds mate... Well done... I can see your a nodule connoisseur of late.... Your collection and temporary exposure representation must be outstanding....

Those are very nice. I like them.

Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!

Thanks for sharing, fossils show beautiful preservation. Think it would be interesting to all, to see pictures of the site and how you select matrix that has a fossil inside. I like your finds----Tom
