New Members sc rock hopper Posted May 29, 2013 New Members Share Posted May 29, 2013 Hello, all. I'm new to forum but have always been on the hunt for fossils. Mainly shark teeth but learning more now and branching out. This weekend I found some stuff that I'm pretty sure are fossils but don't have an ID on them. They were found on the shore of an island around Charleston, SC. Many local go here for shark teeth but often overlook the other stuff. Of the three below, the find on the right feels like a part of a rib bone or some sort to me. One end is very porous as you often see with the interior of bone. The other two finds have me stumped. Teeth of some mammal? I found the below and a few clam shell casts. Appreciate in advance any help you can give a beginner. Many thanks.

Sharks of SC
They look like bone and two phosphate nodules to me. I don't think it's possible to get any more specific than bone in its current state of preservation. You're definitely looking in the right place though. ibuprofen200mg
I'd second CBK's thoughts, what island? (if you don't mind me asking)
