Oh yeah, I didn't even think someone would put that up here. It must've been a slow news day in Dunedin. We found that whale back in January (or February?) when Travis Park and Alan Tennyson took us to show a second whale at the same quarry. We visit the quarry several times per year, and the previous august had left with two dolphins and a couple penguins in jackets. They had driven down to Dunedin from Wellington and taken the ferry, and stopped by the quarry on the way down.

Anyway, this second whale is pretty large (the jacket is about 2 m long) and one of the mandibles was sticking off to one side at a right angle - this is that mandible in the photo, which I spent a bit of time working on.
