SDAmmoniteHunter
I am hoping someone here can help me decide if this ammonite is real or fake. I don’t have a really reason that I believe it is fake other then it was bought and not found. I bought it from a gift shop 7-8 years ago. If I need to take better pictures please let me know, this was the best I could do with my phone. Thanks in advance for any help!
lissa318
I posted about ammonites awhile ago as I love them and wanted to buy some. The general consensus was that although they aren't found everywhere, they are common enough that they are not normally faked. I don't see any reason to believe that yours is either. snolly50
Appears to be an ammonite, enjoy. Reconquistador
they are common enough that they are not normally faked. These looks fine, but even ammonites are being faked. Mostly from Morocco. Something can be seen at this link: http://www.ammonites.fr/Articles/maroc2002.htm Probaby most of the faked ammonites I have seen has been partially genuine, but inner whorls has been faked.
