posteriori
I was looking for fossils at St Clair, PA. I came across this curious rock imbeded along with some fossil ferns. Is this a possible footprint?
Terry Dactyll
You do get some interesting geological shapes in the mud shales around the layers in carboniferous exposures and I think this is one of these and not a footprint....I spotted some once and was told they were called by bioturbation.... 1 Cheers Steve... fossilcrazy
It would be easier to tell you that the fossil record thus far has shown land animals in the Pennsylvanian time where seldom bigger than a baby alligator, usually they were under a foot long. The theories on Sedimentary structures can be lengthy and I don't think I could do a good enough job on your example.
