Ray Eklund
A Pseudocynodictusrockus familiaris. A false dog cat rock that is familiar to all of us when collecting. It appears to be a linear concretion with a hardened concretion rind. We all have picked up something because of the shape. Good eye for shape. Just not a fossil in my opinion. Keep looking! I see nothing that looks like bone cells and is just differential weathering. Maybe, if it were in a Cretaceous sandstone... a mollusc burrow that infilled. Now, that would be as close as I can get to being related to anything fossil. Any shell in the area? You lack what Period or Formation this was found. Sometimes just knowing this information makes any identification more certain.

Herb
I believe it is a leaverite. But interesting.
