Hello everybody,

I'm newbie here and I really need help.

I'm a PHD student working with a faunal archaeological material from coastal shell middens in the southeast of Brazil.

I found these strange pieces and I don't know what they are...

Gastroliths? Nummulites ? Any ideas?

The material has around four thousand years...

Thank you very much.

To identify these I would look at the flora rather than the fauna, but I don't know enough about South American plants to help.

Hello Taogan,

thank you for your message. I asked some botanists and they did not recognized these pieces like plants
