TyrannosaurusRex Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 A family member found this one a couple of years ago. It measures 1' 4" across. Found close to Fort Worth texas.
fossilized6s Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Very nice! It would be pretty cool to slice that in half and hang them on the wall with plate hangers! ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

vertman Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 This one appears to be from a genus called Eopachydiscus. Not 100% sure on the species but could be one of a couple. It probably came from the Lower Cretaceous aged Duck Creek Formation on the west side of Ft. Worth. This is an internal mold of the ammonite and has the normal limestone presentation. I don't believe you would have much success slicing this guy open. If you did, I don't think it will show the internal structure like the Calycoceras ammonites from the Woodbine Formation do. 1
