The first item has the feel of a fossil based on the circular cross section with the small "veins" running through. Found in the stream below Tinker Falls, Tully NY

Fossil or not?

This second is a fossil. At first I thought it had a plant-like look, then something else. to my eye, not quite like a trilobite, but I'm still new. Ideas? The major formations are Tully Limestone underlain by Moscow shale (mid-Devonian) Hamilton group.

The second fossil might be Plumalina. Does it look like there might be more of the fossil hidden under the matrix on the right side?

I was going to ask for scale, before I realized that's a toothbrush in the photo for scale! :)

It absolutely looks cut off in a straight line and that could be because the other half is still inside.

Looking at some other plumalina pics, it looks exactly like that… considering where it was found, I'd say it's quite likely. Thanks :-)
