Gen. et sp. indet. Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 (edited) Can you identify this brachiopod? Found today in an Ordovician or Silurian erratic boulder of Baltica origin. P.S. The upload feature is not working for me, so I uploaded the photos here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/zhdhd8jhd86t284/1.JPG http://www.mediafire.com/view/jjkab5vc888g778/2a.JPG http://www.mediafire.com/view/95cap5m7nejhjkj/2b.JPG Edited June 19, 2014 by Gen. et sp. indet.
Shamalama Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Without knowing the specific geology of where the fossil came from it's hard to pin down the ID of your Brachiopod. I can say with confidence that it appears to belong to the Terebratulid order. Possibly a Pentamerid. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. To them, the roadcut is a portal, a fragment of a regional story, a proscenium arch that leads their imaginations into the earth and through the surrounding terrain. - John McPheeIf I'm going to drive safely, I can't do geology. - John McPheeCheck out my Blog for more fossils I've found: http://viewsofthemahantango.blogspot.com/
