Where Did These People Go?

Recommended Posts

It's been quite a while since we've heard from Indy (Barry Sutton) or Northstar. Does anybody know these folks in "real life"? Did they just lose interest in the forum? That would be surprising, especially for Indy as he was around for so long and was such an active member . Anyway, hope they're OK and put in a reappearance eventually.

Haven't heard from Pleecan ( Peter), or Paleopix (Dan) or Hawkeye in a long while, either. :(

I agree with you Don, all of their input is missed.

Regards,

EDIT: almost forgot Terry Dactyl (Steve) !

Hope everyone is OK.

I had an email exchange with Hawkeye a while ago, he is very busy with work at the CDC and family (kids in football as I recall, which eats up weekends).

Dan is quite active in photography forums online. His work is pretty amazing.

Don't know what Peter and Steve are doing these days.

People come to feel almost like family to me in this forum. It's disturbing when they disappear.

Don,

Thanks for the info on those members. I appreciate it.

I feel the same way, and start to worry about those who don't show up after a while.

I do know northstar personally but have not heard from him in a while. I just sent him a txt to see how things are going.

Kind of weird how some blow in like a hurricane, and disappear just as fast. Anyone heard from "Tennessee Pride"? I enjoyed reading what he wrote. (In my mind he sounded like Foghorn Leghorn.)

Anyone remember Momma Betts. I know she was having some health issues. Hope all is well with her.

Tennessee Pride...a fun read, but I had a feeling he wouldn't last, for reasons I'll keep to myself. I, on the other hand, have been here since the beginning, like an old piece of furniture that no one has the heart to throw out!

One of his last posts alluded to some 'authority' closing in...very cryptic, and more than a little alarming...

Not a peep since.

An old piece of furniture piled high with fossils of course.

Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

I have Joshua's (Tennessee pride) number and i texted him a few months back, and nothin'.......

I know he felt like the university professors and local paleontologists were snubbing him and he was getting sick of the "scientific community".

He was always finding cool stuff.

what about Tracer..I enjoyed his posts.

Tracer's brain and command of language worked in amazing and curious ways. Some folks walk to the beat of a different drummer. He is missed.

That's unfortunate. He was certainly a colorful character. I don't recall anybody here being disrespectful to him. I know I never intended to come across that way.

Hopefully he'll check back in one day.

Hey Tim and all. I certainly do miss Steve's posts/contributions here as well!

I have been in touch with him and he is finding nice stuff as you would expect! He's a good guy!

  • 4 weeks later...

Glad you started this topic, Don, thought I just found it now. I too had been wondering about certain members who have dropped off the radar too, incl. Pleecan Peter and Paleopix Dan, and one who was not yet mentioned: Fossilcrazee (sp.?) Lyla.

Also I havent seen Astrinos (Astron) lately

I've been in touch with him fairly recently - he is still visiting the forum, but hasn't had anything he deems worthy of posting.
