gcaruso Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Just got back from my weekend trip with the NY Paleontological Society. On Saturday we visited two sites: Greer Rd. Quarry and Deep Spring Road. They are from the Mid Devonian Hamilton Group. On Sunday we visited the The Sheds Site--Windom Shale. Here are some of my finds.

Brewcuse Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I've gone to these sites a couple times this summer, looks like fun was had by all. Thanks for sharing.
Shamalama Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Nice finds. Which site produced the Gonaitite? -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. gcaruso Posted October 7, 2014 Author Posted October 7, 2014 Thanks! I found the Goniatite at the Greer Rd. site.
Shamalama Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Im'a have to spend more time there. I didn't find all too much that excited me on my first visit. Apparently I wasn't looking hard enough! -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. Jeffrey P Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Congratulations on some great finds. A fine sample of the types of trilobites, bivalves, and gastropods that can be found at those sites. I'm especially impressed with the goniatite. The ones I've found are usually quite a bit smaller. And corals are definitely uncommon. Where did you score the Pleurodictyum? I've only found one so far and that was at Geer Road.
gcaruso Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Thanks Jeffrey! Yes, I found the Pleurodictyum at Greer Rd.
