Howdy folks,

I have been hunting/collecting fossils since I was a kid. I am currently attending NMSU for Wildlife Science, eventually I hope to get a masters degree in education with a geology minor.

I have a few fossils that I am working on trying to clean up. One I can only see a small segment of it and would love to learn how to clean the main rock away without destroying the fossil. Vinegar doesn't seem to be useful, since all I have is very diluted stuff. Any pointers?

Welcome to the Forum. Vinegar works well with limestone matrix. Post some pictures in the Fossil ID section of your specimen in question, someone will help. Alsom add some info, where was it found, etc. Again, welcome!
