Can you help me identify this? Found near Cahaba River, looks like modern cane or bamboo, but don't believe that they are bamboos. Any idea of age, period? Have not found animal fossils anywhere near this spot.

Hey Gobbler. There are Carboniferous aged fossils in the area and would need clearer pictures for any possible ID. Calamites is one plant genus that comes to mind but would need to see closeup details in your pictures.
