howard_l Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Looks like a Pelecypod of some type. Howard_L http://triloman.wix.com/kentucky-fossils
Shamalama Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Hi Peppi, What you have are definitely pelecypods but I am not as familiar with lower Devonian fauna as I'd like to be. It looks like a Modiomorpha sp. type shell but not sure if that existed in your area. The Fossilworks.org website does have an entry for Modiomorpha as being found in the Eifellian hills in Germany: G. Fuchs. 1982. Upper Siegenian and Lower Emsian in the Eifel Hills. CFS. Courier Forschungsinstitut Senckenberg 55:229-255 It also seems to list Arduspirifer and Euryspirifer as being present in the same rocks. Maybe if you can find the above article it will be of some help? -Dave -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. Peppi Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Thank you, Howard and Dave, for your answers. @ Dave:I haven´t found the article on the internet, but I think I can get it from Senckenberg. Greetings from the river Rhine valley, Michael
