This was found in the 70's on Navajo land in Arizona/New Mexico near the Petrified Forrest. I'm guessing it's either cycad or ginkgo (according to wiki). Can you help me? post-12965-0-90810800-1424754308_thumb.jpg

Nice texture. Can we also see the ends of the piece to help ID.

Most wood from the area, the Chinle Formation, is Araucarioxylon arizonicum which according to Wikipedia may actually be several different species.
