giangio Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 This ammonoid was collected from ladinian red gray limestones of Veneto, Italy. Who gives me an opinion on the classification? Thank You
abyssunder Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Ptychites cf. plusiae...? 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. " Thomas Mann My Library
giangio Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 I also think it could be a Ptychites, because the suture line is similar, bat you see very little. A specimen so open I had never found in that site. In the same site we found Protrachyceras longobardicum and archelaus. Thank for now
andreas Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 I think Ptychites plusiae RENZ too. I found a similar one in a location in Austria together with Protrachyceras longobardicum, Pt. archelaus, Epigymnites sp. link Figure 23 is similar. 1
giangio Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 OK. I saw the picture in your link, is very similar, I think is the correct classification. Thanks Andreas G.
