Peace River Assistance Appreciated

Recommended Posts

Found lots of the expected shark teeth and many chunks of dugong rib bones, but looking for assistance/confirmation for a few of our finds from last week just outside of Wauchula, Fl. Any assistance is appreciated.

Any way to tell what species of horse this is from?

Nice megs. Not an expert but the vert resembles those of marine mammals, could be whale. The horse tooth is most likely Equus (Pleistocene) but posting a picture of the chewing surface would help.

The horse is probably too beat up for any exact ID. Definitely one of the Pliocene-Miocene horses. There appears to be an isolated stylid there. Two possible IDs would be Callippus or Nannippus.
