Fossil Hunting Near Woodlands, Texas

Hello all, I have a friend who hunts with me and he's headed to Woodlands, TX for a conference. Is there anywhere nearby he can spend a day picking around. We are familiar with ammonites, brachiopods and limited exposure to dinosaur. He's headed to Hawaii now so I told him I'd check this out for him and let him know. I guess there is no WIFI in Hawaii (needs an 'f').

This one ammonite is where it all started 4 years ago on the Smoky River, Alberta.

Hi,

Woodlands is North Houston, I live 15 min away.... the closest where fossils are found is in College Station, 90 min away from The Woodlands.

Best bet is going either to Central TX (3 hour each way) or around Dallas (4 hours each way).
