JetJr Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 http://imgur.com/a/avRfx I'm mostly curious of what kind of shark the tooth belonged to! Found it last weekend at Caspersen Beach in Venice, Florida. The biggest tooth I've found so far in 3 weeks of hunting. Hopefully some of you can help identify the other items. • Pictures 1-11 were all found on Caspersen Beach, Venice, Florida. • Pictures 12-15 location found is unknown. • Pictures 16-18 the fossil came from river-rock transported from an unknown location. The potential bone in picture 5-7 has a concave surface, sort of like a ball joint. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
bocafossil Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The shark tooth is a meg. The others are pretty worn so these are guesses but, 3 &4 could be turtle shell, 5,6,& 7 looks like a piece of leg bone. No guess on 8. 9 thru 11 could be a turtle foot pad. 12 & 13 dugong rib, and the rest also look like pieces of rib bone.
JetJr Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 I guess I should of grouped these pictures better. 1-2 3-4 5-7 8-11 12-15 16-18 6 items total. Thanks for your reply. I'll do some research based off your guesses.
