kirkjeremiah23 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I was kayaking in some of the local rivers in Kansas and find found some pretty cool bones. Some I know are old others maybe modern as I also found white tail and coyote bones. But just let me know what you guys think. Any information is much appreciated. Thanks and enjoy
kirkjeremiah23 Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Here are some more pictures and keep in mind that the rivers are low so I picked up most of these where they would normally be under water.
DylanS Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 (edited) Here's my best guess: Starting at the top from left to right: Probably Bison/Bos Jaw - right side (although hard to tell without teeth the coronoid process looks a little slender for Bison/Bos) Bison/Bos Metapodial/Cannon bone - front leg Bison/Bos Scapula - right side Both Thoracic vertebrae - top vert might be horse... bottom one definitely Bison/Bos Bison/Bos tibias Bison/Bos rib - right side near the chest Portion of a Pelvic bone - difficult to tell what animal from the picture - probably Bison/Bos Partial femur - probably Bison/Bos Not sure on that second to last piece of bone...
