V-ox Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I found it in a SE England flower bed. It has three roots. I'm thinking it comes from something quite ordinary... any suggestions? Thanks!
njfossilhunter Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) Can you take a picture showing the top view of this tooth ,,,,It can help in the ID. All I can say for now is that it might be a molar tooth from (maybe a pig ?) It just a guess. There are members here that probably ID this in a heart beat. sseth Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) It looks very dog-like to me. Edited April 7, 2015 by sseth _____________________________________ Seth www.fossilshack.com www.americanfossil.com www.fishdig.com
Harry Pristis Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Dog-like upper molar is a good guess by Sseth, I think. This is an M1, but there is a smaller, less robust M2 behind the M1. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
V-ox Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks for the replies, all. Dog or pig seems about right.
Harry Pristis Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks for the replies, all. Dog or pig seems about right. Pigs don't have teeth with basins like yours. http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
