Hello fossil forum! Today I believe I have found my first fossil by myself. For a while now, about 9 years, I have known that I have limestone (crumbled) under my deck in the backyard. Today I decided to make my dreams a reality despite my mom's assurances that I wouldn't find anything. I found this bugger within less than a minute of searching. I know most of the fossils in the rock are imprints, but one stands out to me, the large shell in the middle is 3D! I believe it to be a Brachiopod of some kind, if anyone can tell me more about it that'd be great!

Regards,

-Anthony

Yep brachiopod - nice one too! A brachiopod was my first fossil as well - I was so excited, I still remember it like it was yesterday!! Congrats!

I'm guessing its Silurian or Ordovician, so maybe its Oniella or Dalmenella. Take that with a grain of salt, I'm not that great at guessing specific genera and species.

Second find, believe it to be a piece of a small trilobite. Might need some confirmation.

Congrats, great find, however, I urge caution! Velociraptor Moms don't like to have their admonitions ignored.
