matiks Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Hello everyone, I found a rock with two formations but with my knowledge I don't know what it is so I'm asking you for help.So...the rock was found in the Adriatic sea on a Croatian island. The rock is cca 20cm long. First formation is about 3cm long and it is some sort of a spiral. The second one it's about 1cm long.It looks like it's some sort of a shell but what kind of fossil it is and how long it is there? I'm curious about it so any help will be welcome. thanks (1.) (2.)
Scylla Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I think these may be serpulid worms. There are modern and fossil ones, but I can't tell which type you have there.
Ludwigia Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I was rather thinking that they are both the broken off "feet" of gastropods due to the spiral form and what appears to be the end of a central column. Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/
