Raggedy Man Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 As the title says, I took a road trip Saturday to SE Minnesota to meet follow forum member Bev and had the privilege to hunt the amazing ordovician in her back yard. I arrived at her home and was instantly shocked at the sheer amount of fossils she has. One could spend all day searching the "Bev formation" and not see every fossil. If you ever have pleasure to visit Bev, I highly recommend the tour. Her yard is amazing and really shows her passion for gardening and fossil hunting. Once the tour was over we packed up and headed out for some site seeing and hunting. The number of fossil rich sites around her is just unbelievable. We probably visited 10 sites all within 5-10 minutes of her home. Some sites were on her map she makes,(which is very informative and better than most if not all that I've seen) and some weren't. The amount of information she gave was vast and overwhelming and will definitely require a refresher course. Bev was a wonderful host and is an amazing person. A few finds were made that day, but the best one was a new friend and someone else to share this wonderful hobby we all enjoy so very much. I will definitely be returning soon with my wife so that she can experience the "Bev formation" and enjoy the fantastic and quiet fossil hunting grounds of SE Minnesota. Best regards, Paul 1 ...I'm back.
