TNCollector Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) It doesn't look reptilian to me, looks more fish-like. The enamel is too smooth, and I cannot see any striations. But I have never collected there, so let's see what others have to say. Edited July 21, 2015 by TNCollector
Carl Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 No convinced it's a tooth, Rocky. Being from Ramanessin, it's much more likely a concretion or some kind of mollusk steinkern.
Rockwood Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 I can ditch the tooth idea easily enough, but I'm having real trouble getting a handle on the alternatives. Any help ?
abyssunder Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I think steikern could be a possitive ID. " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. " Thomas Mann My Library
Rockwood Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 But what do I google to see the steinkerner there of ?
abyssunder Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I think this : http://palaeo-electronica.org/content/pdfs/477.pdf " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
