New Members HeartRocker Posted August 2, 2015 New Members Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) Pics 1-4 is my "rock" that resembles a face that has become distorted. I'm sure it's not anything special, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Pic 5 is the underside of the "face" is a grayish color. The "rock" has a plasticy stone feeling to it. Pics 6 and 7 is a bone?? Not sure. The 8th pic I call my "mini dinosaur head" LOL The 9th and 10th pic is ??! Not sure. 11th pic.?? Not sure. 12th pic has the same texture as the 1st pic. Looks like an animal head. LOL I'm sure it's just the way I'm looking at it. But I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance for any help!! Edited August 2, 2015 by HeartRocker
Rockwood Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 1-5 I think your instincts are good. It is a fine example of weathering. 6-7 Texture doesn't seem right for bone. I've seen iron stone with the spiral shape on the inside. 8 Cute 1
Plax Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) 6 and 7 look like an internal cast of the base of a vertically spiraling snail. Where you found your fossils helps to identify them. Edited August 3, 2015 by Plax 1
