nala Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 A little beach hunt in Normandy today, I tried to find a Sparnatian( Lower Eocene) level,i have found some in the basement of the cliffs with gastropods but was not lucky at the top to find the main level wich can contain shark teeth
izak_ Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I love the scenery It sounded like a good trip! Izak
Foshunter Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Like all of your trips, they are a mixture of scenery and fossils----Tom Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"
ZiggieCie Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 What a beautiful country you live in, and great fossils.
Ridgehiker Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks for sharing. So peaceful. Not so peaceful when my father was there just over 70 years ago just a couple kms away at Dieppe. I really like the photo of the rocks with the shells in it. I want to take out a rock hammer and chip away at it. The scenery photos give great perspective.
FossilDAWG Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Shark teeth are OK, but I'd be perfectly happy to find such excellent shells. Combined with the scenery I'd have a suspicion I had died and went to heaven. Don
nala Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks Izak,Tom,ZiggieCie,Canadawest and Don
Manticocerasman Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Seems to me you have been quite busy collecting the past few weeks. Thanks for sharing the photos whit us. Kevin growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
Mike Pocock Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Very Nice countryside, make collecting a pleasure, you must find it difficult to not just stop and stare at such spectacular views. And to think its just across the channel, I must look into getting a ferry. Thanks for sharing Regards Mike
nala Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks Kevin and Mike, there is also a empty house on the cliff
Foshunter Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks Kevin and Mike, there is also a empty house on the cliff IMG_7727.JPG WoW!!!!! Shamalama Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Yikes! I'm glad you are safe Gery. -Dave __________________________________________________ Geologists on the whole are inconsistent drivers. taj Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 hmmm that happened also for me in Saint Jouin ,, but that remains a highly unlikely event : last death was in the early 1900'... Much , much more dangerous to use a car for your next groceries trip
