IonRocks Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 (edited) I just received my first trilobite, an Asaphus kowalewskii, and noticed indentations on the cephalon near the eye stalks, and would just like to know what it is. I have a few theories, geologic forces (maybe..), the way the trilobite is bent over, or something during the lifespan/non fossilized span of the trilobite. (Or maybe they're just like that?) it was rather difficult to photograph, so I did my best, and if you can't tell, I am referring to the shadowed area at the base of the eye stalk in the upper part of the image. IonRocks Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Yeah, I'm super happy about it, and it was a great price.
