fossilsrock Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Here are some things from the Miocene deposit at the Potomac river. I think the flat two are from the end of the lower jaw. They both have a hole running all the way through about pencil wide. They are shaped differently, does that indicate a different species or a different age? The lumpy two I'm not sure of.
njfossilhunter Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) No the holes in the front of the jaw do not ID the baleen whale...its the other end and cross sections of the jaw that does.....But some nice finds......Congrat's... I meant they are overall shaped differently, not that the holes are shaped differently. Thanks though.
