Fossildude19
This post made me smile. I love refinding fossils that I have misplaced or otherwise forgotten about. Looking forward to seeing them after your prep. Thanks for posting. FossilDAWG
"Lobster con" makes me think of Dragon Con, which was just held a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta. Kind of funny to think of thousands of people all dressed up as lobsters! I cannot even begin to imagine forgetting that I had a bunch of lobster concretions in my shed. That would be funny too see. It's pritty easy to forget as much as I've had to move and I've been collecting for some time now. I think that's y I relate to Ron so much when he goes hunting for fossil in his shed.
RJB
Hey DLB. Always nice to find fossils 'again'. Ha! I myself have a love hate relationship with the lobsters. I can easily see your gunna have some problems with those concs. But even so, one of the best lobsters Ive found was in a bad shaped conc. it was all rolled up and one side and there was a piece of another lobster on the other end, so you really never know. it will be exciting to see what you end up with. I do wish the very best of fossil luck. RB
DLB
Ya I have a heck of a time trying to figure out which side is up on them. Is there any tricks that may helpMe?
ynot
I would try to stay away from breaking the one on the left, looks like it could be painful! Hope the others prep out well. Good luck. Tony
DLB
Lol ya I hope I don't go breaking that one for a long time. Edited October 2, 2015 by DLB
RJB
Sometimes, breaking them is the best way to see just how they are situated in the rock. Glue comes in purty handy for this technique. If I was there and can view them in person I may be able to help, but you live to far away for a visit. Good luck RB
RJB
Hey DLB. Here are some pics of one I did a few years back that was in about 10 pieces. It can be done. Hope this helps. RB
Doctor Mud
Man - those things look harder to prep than crab concretions! May the force/forum be with you!
RJB
Hey Doctor Mud, of all the things ive prepped, those lobster concs are the hardest of all. You have to really want a challenge to do one of those. RB
