ivigo
Hello , i take this picture in mid quality only because the rock is interesting. After in my PC when i see better the picture i found plants fossils and the more interesting and unusual thing in the orange circle , one snake fossil. Because the quality off the photo is not so good i am not sure 100% about what is. I need to go there again and take more picture with my good camera and also i make a good examination from close. But i need before to go there (because is a little far away ) your first opinion about it. Thanks , Chris Edited November 20, 2015 by ivigo
Ptychodus04
The photo is too blurry/low resolution to see that it is anything more than a rock. Rockwood
When you zoom in there does appear to be a shape that could be a partial snake skull. If there were vertebrae posterior to it in stead of the suggestion of an external structure it would seem more convincing. Better photos are definitely in order. ivigo
Yes the snake looks unusual...is not a skeleton , but a whole snake with everything....i know this is strange but real looks like a snake , with eye ....and body. Also the plants fossils around and up to the snake is there. Edited November 20, 2015 by ivigo
Auspex
I propose that the feature is a suggestively shaped geological artifact. ivigo
One more and closer image . The thing is inside to the rock and looks to much like a real snake for my opinion for geological artifacts. Also behind and right down out of the orange circle looks like a leg with nail. Maybe is not a snake ..... Edited November 20, 2015 by ivigo
Auspex
It may look like a real snake, but it does not look at all like a fossil snake. caldigger
Better close up images and more of them are in order. What type of plant fossils are you seeing here that the photo does not show?
ivigo
Yes sure more and best photos very soon. I don't know exactly what type of plants is ( also the quality of photos is bad ) because i am an amateur , but i have a good eye. old dead things
Ivigo, don't beat yourself up. All collectors have been incorrect more than once. The forum helps to educate, not berate. I thought it was an interesting piece the first time I saw it and frankly had no idea as to what it may have been, but can see what you saw. Just a note, artifacts are man made. Welcome to the forum and keep collecting and I hope you do find a snake some day. Jim Old Dead Things
