glu
Just want you to show my very first megalodon. I was so excited when I found it! It was found near Antwerpen on a 45 minutes trip. Near this monster there was about other 20 teeth( mostly isurus hastalis, escheri, a striatolamia and some hexanchidae). All the teeth I found was in a square meter and nothing around them. I apologies for bad photos

mrieder79
Quite a find! It is my understanding that it is somewhat rare to find megalodon teeth in Europe. Is this true? Luck is the most important skill of a fossil diver.
Manticocerasman
Great job Glu, they are realy uncommon here in Belgium. growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.
glu
Yes they are quite rare here in Europe, not so uncommon in south Italy but it's very difficult to get an access to the site, and it's forbidden.
Ludwigia
Quite a find! It is my understanding that it is somewhat rare to find megalodon teeth in Europe. Is this true? That is unfortunately correct (with the exception of the virtual marketplace of course I've been on the hunt for months for a good deal) Greetings from the Lake of Constance. fossilized6s
Congratulations on the nice find. Not only is it rare, but from what I've read it's a nice sized one too for Europe. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
Manticocerasman
That is unfortunately correct (with the exception of the virtual marketplace of course I've been on the hunt for months for a good deal) Roger, If you are looking for one you might want to try to visit some fossil fairs in Belgium. a few local collectors sell them from time to time, but they are indeed expensive. I could ask around if you are interested, just send me a PM growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional.

FossilHunter99
Wow nice find! One of my challenges for this year is to find a megalodon tooth, here in Hungary there is only one site that produces teeth but even there they are extremely rare and usually only partials are found.
