Mosasaur Jaw Segment

Paleodad5

Recommended Posts

As members of the Houston Gem & Mineral Society's Paleo Section' we had the great fortune to hunt the Martin Marietta Midlothian, Texas Quarry on Saturday. I found 2 small sections of Mosasaur jaw sections, each with a tooth. BUT, a few minutes later my 17 year old son found this much larger Mosasaur jaw secton in situe in this rock matrix. What a marvelous find, which includes its own stand!

Sweet! No one had time to share everything they found so I'm looking forward to seeing what others found too.

Fossils are simply one of the coolest things on earth--discovering them is just marvelous! Makes you all giddy inside!

Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!

That was a sweet find. I didn't find anything spectacular this time (unless it's still buried in the matrix i brought home), but my grandson found this awesome shark tooth a couple of feet away from where I was.
