Again, no idea here aside from I am pretty sure it is mammal!

When I find bones of that shape, I call them "toe bones".

Now a proper vertebratologist will come along and tell me how very wrong I am. :blush:

Haha! that is about as far as I got as well!

I am perfectly fine calling it a "toe bone" as well. :P

Yup. TFF is so image rich that many Google image searches lead you right back to here. :)

Toe bones (phalanges) tend to be extra dense and sturdy so they seem to preferentially fossilize well. Haven't found a deer toe yet but I do have a camel toe. :blink:

No camel material for me this trip!

Maybe in the fall ;)

I have a couple of small camel teeth from South Dakota though!
