wetwilly
Hi, Was curious to know if anyone could get a positive ID out of any of these late cretaceous finds. A pincer of... ghost shrimp? (3/4") Tooth...? (1/2") Concretion...? (1/2") Thanks in advance, Bill Bill
Ptychodus04
Last pic is a crustacean claw. I'm no use on the others. Mike from North Queensland
Not positive IDs but The top object in the photo of all three is the infill from the end of a fish vertebra Yes that is a crustacean claw unsure of what The other photo is blurry but the end in focus may be bone but also could be sediment infill of something not a tooth as no enamel present. Turtle is possible Mike Edited May 5, 2016 by Mike from North Queensland
Carl
I agree crustacean claw part (the dactyl). The cone is more likely to be the inside view of a shattered fish (likely shark) vertebra than the infilling of one. The last one is very hard to read but I'm pretty sure it is a root from a shark tooth, likely Scapanorhynchus.
wetwilly
Thanks to all for the replies. I'm going to have to let the fish vertebra information sink in a little (a lot), I'll try and look that up for some comparisons. I can't seem to get a better pic on the questionable root/turtle item... here are two more pictures that I hope show the surface detail better.
