New Members Leichty Posted June 26, 2016 New Members Share Posted June 26, 2016 I found this a couple of days while vacationing at Myrtle Beach. I was looking for shells and this washed up to me. Does anyone have an idea what it is.

Fossildude19
What's the size of this? Also, can we get a few other views of this? Brightened the pic a bit. FossilDAWG
It reminds me of a portion of the hinge area from a bivalve, possibly Isognomon (though that is far from certain). The flattened area does not really fit with the morphology of a crab or lobster claw. Don

Fossildude19
I agree with Don - this looks like a piece of a shell. Regards, . New Members Leichty Posted June 26, 2016 Author New Members Share Posted June 26, 2016 This is 31/2 inches long . I was wading looking for shells I looked down and there it was so I put my foot on it so a wave wouldn't take it back and then I grabbed it.
