New Members AmateurRockFanatic Posted October 19, 2016 New Members Share Posted October 19, 2016 I found this in a load of rocks from a Farmer's field in Michigan. I love it and am dying to know what it is.
Fossildude19
Welcome to the Forum. Looks like a Devonian (??) aged Favositid coral to me. ( EDIT: Could be of Mississippian age. ) I also see a crinoid stem imprint (or possibly an orthocone cephalopod) on Picture 2, along with a crinoid columnal imprint. Neat find. abyssunder
Tim said already ! Yes, it looks like a favositid tabulate coral. Nice find! I'm not sure about the crinoid column imprint, but the other one is a crinoid columnal for sure. Edit : Similar rectangular shaped columnals are exemplified in this topic : 2 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way.
