Tidgy's Dad Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Difficult. A leech? 1 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
caldigger Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Looks a bit like the Beatles "Yellow Submarine". Other than that, I got nothin. 1
Nimravis Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I am not seeing anything on this one- maybe take a picture a little farther away, sometimes that helps with Mazon Creek items. 1
fossilized6s Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I'll go with submarine as well.....lol No, it looks like a "blade" that had a bad split (Esconichthys apopyris). But I'd confirm with the real experts @fiddlehead @RCFossils 1 ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

That's an eye of something fishy. 1 ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG

fossilized6s Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 I believe it's a bad split. I think this is upside down, you can see a possible "gill" coming out here. 2 ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
Nimravis Posted December 19, 2017 Posted December 19, 2017 Just now, fossilized6s said: I believe it's a bad split. I think this is upside down, you can see a possible "gill" coming out here. I know- but the big portion that you have circled appears to be a fracture break and all of the blades that I have seen are flat with the fin as a discoloration. But that is the fun with Mazon Creek soft bodied preservation- many people see different things. 2
