jcbshark Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Just wanted to post a pic of my current display worthy megs. All from Florida and all except one little posterior which was mislabeled as a tiger and I couldn’t pass up for 1$ are personal finds lol. A mix of dive, land and creek finds and quite a few years in the making. Not as big as some folks in the Carolinas regularly find, a “big” tooth to me is 3 inches plus but the colors of bone valley sure do make for a nice display 5 Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
Nimravis Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Nice looking display and some great finds.
minnbuckeye Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Hey Jeff, Great display!!! Is this another table like in your dining room? Didn't that have nice megs in it? Will have to check it out on my next Florida vacation.
caldigger Posted December 24, 2017 Posted December 24, 2017 Ya, marvelous display unit, almost looks like the shape of a tooth in itself. Seems like you'll be needing another table soon.
Miocene_Mason Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 Awesome collection! Happy hunting, Mason

Just some new additions and high grading since you’ve seen it last it’s an ever evolving display but will likley need something a little bigger sooner or later Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!

Plantguy Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Very nice teeth Jeff...but, I want to see the horse teeth collection too...dont hold back! LOL. Looking forward to getting out sometime in January with you all. Regards, Chris
Shellseeker Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Impressive Jeff, even for grizzled Florida fossil hunters, you have excelled. I just consider the absolute joy you had in finding each and every one. I guess I should have attached myself to your hip pocket when you 1st came on the scene. May you need a bigger display case! MarcoSr Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Jeff Impressive! Lots of real screamers! Love the bone valley colors! Most of the megs that I find in MD/VA are 3" or under. I still haven't found a meg over 6" in MD/VA. My sons who have found several thousand megs in MD/VA haven't either. I have a meg curse. I always find the worn, damaged ones. I found some of my nicest condition megs diving in the Chesapeake Bay back in the early 1970s. Marco Sr. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day." jcbshark Posted December 31, 2017 Author Posted December 31, 2017 Thanks Marco I have yet to find a six incher too, biggest one in the case is the beat up one in the top corner. He’s 5 1/2 but really worn Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!
MeargleSchmeargl Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 I've only got 2 Megs, one whole one and one busted one, from the same trip. Then again, I've only really made 2 trips dedicated to finding said Megs. Nice one ya got there. Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.
