GRAVELGAZER Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I AM THINKING ABOUT GOING TO THE TALLAHASSEE SHOW IN MARCH AND WAS WONDERING IF THERE WERE ANY CREEKS OR RIVERS TO SCREEN FOR FOSSILS NEARBY?ALSO HOW FAR IS THE PEACE RIVER FROM THERE?
Rain1950 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 No personal experience, but I have links http://donaldkenney.110mb.com/STATES/FL.HTM (Leon County) http://www.treasuresites.com/members/fossil.htm
PrehistoricFlorida Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 The Peace River is a good 7 hours from Tallahassee. If you have a boat or canoe, I can put you on some spots where you can snorkel or screen. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
PrehistoricFlorida Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Here's some stuff I found around Tallahassee today. There's a small three hump mastodon tooth in the lower left hand corner and a huge half a giant snapping turtle mandible in the left third of the picture. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
worthy 55 Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Here's some stuff I found around Tallahassee today. There's a small three hump mastodon tooth in the lower left hand corner and a huge half a giant snapping turtle mandible in the left third of the picture. Is the water clear? And I like that deer leg. Cool stuff!! :Thumbs-up: It's my bone!!!
PrehistoricFlorida Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 After all that rain we got the other day, the water won't be clear for quite a while now... www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
