New Members dsimonubb Posted September 9, 2018 New Members Share Posted September 9, 2018 Hello. I was on holiday in Turkey in summer of 2015, in Kemer, and i found a big rock, half the size of a bowling ball, that had some white formations on it, which you can see in the picture attached. The formations looked like petrified worms, almost like spaghetti. There were many such formations all over the rock. They were not very long, 2-4 cm I would estimate. Can you please help me find out what these white formations are? are they some kind of fossilized worms or some other sea creatures? Thank you. Tidgy's Dad
These are modern worm tubes growing on the rock, probably a serpulid or sabellid. 5 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.
Ludwigia
I agree with Adam. Recent, not fossil. 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

abyssunder
Welcome to the Forum! I agree! Those are calcareous tubes of modern anellid worms. I suppose they may be Spirobranchus triqueter (= Pomatoceros triqueter), widespread in the Mediterranean Sea.
