Bobby Rico
Hi All I though I would do a little post. Sorry if the information is a little lacking but I have been ill and had an emergency operation . I am fine now but still on the meds and I thus get a little confused. I purchased to occupy myself some Micro Matrix from the Lower Permian Richard's Spur locality of Oklahoma. Fossils range from fragments to complete and include toe bones, jaws, skull plates, teeth, intercentra, limb bone ends etc. The majority of specimens are Captorhinus magnus and C. aguti but undoubtedly there are other species. I am sorry but I am unable to identify them but I really enjoyed doing the photos so I thought I would share my finds with you guys. Cheers Bobby

The marks you point out look a bit more like damage post fossilization, to me. Chips off of the bone. Someone else may have better insight, though. Cheers! Uncle Siphuncle
Some old shots from the Dolese Quarry on a special day way back in 2005. A few things went awry during and after this trip. One collector disobeyed quarry rules and was caught scaling one of the walls...bad news for future collecting. Also, one or more people began selling finds online, despite that fact that each of us signed a release stating that we would not sell the stuff. Again, short sighted decisions for a few fouled relations for many. I'm just glad that my good buddy Brent called me the week before and said, "Don't ask questions...JUST GET UP HERE!!!!" The window of opportunity was narrow, but we got in. As an aside, I'll note that Brent bulk sampled and processed hundreds of pounds of material at home. As a result, he found so many new species of reptiles, that he named one after me, Cacops woehri! Sadly, Brent (Boneman007 here on TFF) passed away just a week after the paper went public. Such a humble act of friendship and generosity marked his final days. But Brent was a jovial sort of fellow, and would want us to ogle at some finds at this point. So in his honor, let's do exactly that. EDIT: Brent is the big dude crawling solo in the last pic, focused on his "quarry" with laser precision. 4 Grüße, Daniel A. Uncle Siphuncle
Photos to come are mainly mine, but the skulls represent finds of several of us (if not mistaken, Mark McKinzie, Brent Dunn, Rick Kaiser, and myself... dang...Rick has unfortunately since passed as well...so part of my motivation today is to honor their memory). I think our group averaged at least a skull per person that day. Brent got like 20. I got 2. Wish I could relive that day, for every reason imaginable. 7 Grüße, Daniel A. FossilDAWG
That must have been a memorable day! However if your group averaged a skull apiece, and Boneman got 20, wouldn't that mean 19 people were skunked? Don
