Elasmohunter Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 Hey, all! I would like to hunt for fossils in or near Columbus, Ohio. Do any of you have any recommendations for locations to hunt or resources that I could consult? Thank you!
connorp Posted September 29, 2019 Posted September 29, 2019 The famed Ordovician exposures in Cinci are only about 1.5 hours away. Not sure how far you can stray from Columbus though.
Mediospirifer Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 Not in Columbus, but have you ever explored the spoil pile at Oakes Quarry Park, in Fairborn? There's some nice Silurian material available there, and picking the spoil heap is permitted (although picking the rest of the quarry is not).

If I can't find any good spots near Columbus, then I may default to here.
