New Members John O'Hanley Posted October 3, 2019 New Members Posted October 3, 2019 What is this strange object? Is it a bone? A possible fossil? It was collected on the shore of Northumberland Strait, Prince Edward Island, Canada. The strata at this location are generally late Permian, I believe. Thank you for any help you can provide. - John
westcoast Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 Hi John, well it is not a bone, not a fossil and not Permian but on the plus side it is a tooth
Scylla Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 A mammal tooth. One of the experts will give a better ID soon. I think cow.
Harry Pristis Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Bovid cheek tooth, possibly a musk ox. 5 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
