Nice ferns Tim, I'm curious, what makes them white?

There was a discussion about that not too long ago, HERE.

It's a chemical called pyrophyllite. Powdery, and tends to wash off or come off on your hands if you're not careful. Some people coat the plates with hairspray, to keep the color on them. They come in yellows and oranges, as well.
