Rare Phacops iowensis southworthi Trilobite
Very Rare enrolled Phacops iowensis southworthi Trilobite named in Honor of Charles Southworth a famous collector of Hamilton fossils of the Thedford , Arkona area . This trilobite is only found in the Hungry Hollow member at Hungry Hollow in Arkona , Ontario
Size = 4 cm Wide X 6.9 cm length if prone
Middle Devonian
The entire body is covered with sharp conical tubercles that sets it apart from a Phacops Trilobite that is now called Eldredgeops this one still has the Phacops name .
There are 47 eye facets in 13 dorsalventral files
Also there are teeth and jaw elements from a polychaete worm called a scolecodont . In most cases all that is ever found of this Trilobite are cephalons and pygidiums this one is nearly complete , because of the scolecodont teeth on the pygidium I won't be getting it cleaned up
